Went on a great local flight yesterday. Because of the weather, I hadn’t flown in nearly a month (my FBO’s limit before needing a fresh check-out with an instructor). Fortunately, Wednesday afternoon had some great weather.

Most of Southern Ontario was covered with a layer of clouds at about 3300′ ASL (about 2300′ AGL in this area), but I found a nice wide hole over Linwood and took the opportunity to climb into the clear air above. Needless to say, the view was spectacular.

The surface winds were about 12kt from 40 degrees to the right, so I hoped I’d be able to do some crosswind practice, but by the time I returned to the airport, the winds were at 11kt straight down the runway.
