Today I did my second Young Eagles flight. Twelve year old Artem is the son of one of my co-workers, and he was very excited to be going flying in a small plane. Because of weather, work, and school schedules, he had to wait about two months, so he had plenty of time to read up on aircraft.
Artem is one of the most outgoing people I’ve ever flown with, and he wasn’t the least bit shy about asking questions. They were good questions too, like “why doesn’t this plane have an autopilot?”
He took a lot of pictures and video clips during the flight, and is in the process of editing them into a short movie to share with his friends. I look forward to seeing it, and if it’s okay with him, I may post it on my general aviation site.
